As a Visitor to Simpleen
For visitors to the simpleen.io website we do not collect any personal information and do not use cookies. We use Plausible Analytics (a GDPR, CCPA & cookie law compliant site analytics) to keep track of trends in the usage of our website.

As a Subscriber to Simpleen
You can sign up to Simpleen and use our service. To provide our service and the functionality of simpleen.io/app we need to store certain information from our users. We keep this minimal and only share it with third-party services that are absolutely necessary for our service to function. By using Simpleen, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Collection of Information: What we collect & what we use it for
Email address & name: If you decide to create an account, we ask for an email address and a name. This information is necessary to sign up and is used for the following: To provide you with your personal information, to provide and maintain our service, to provide customer support, to notify you about changes to our service and to send you updates, invoices or other essential information.
User content: You are able to provide us with and create content when using our services, i.e. source & target files/content and meta information. We use and store this data for further processing, editing and (re)use by the user as well as to provide customer support and improve our service.
Glossary data: To personalize your translations you can create glossary entries. These are used to adapt your translations according to your individual requirements.
Session token: To provide you with a fast and easy access to your account we store a JSON web token (JWT) in the local storage of your browser after the login/signup process. When you log out the token will be deleted. We do not use this token to track you.
Log files: We log each request on our web server to provide security and maintainability. The information we log includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), date/time stamps associated with your usage, your operating system and system configuration information, your browser type, the pages and files you viewed. We only use these logs to investigate incidents. It is our policy to delete log files after six months or earlier.
Third-Party Services
Simpleen uses certain third-party service providers that are necessary for our service to function:
Payment Processing: We use Paddle to process payments, see Paddle Privacy Policy for more information. We will not store or collect your payment details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processor.
Translation Services: We use DeepL and Cloud Translation API (GoogleTranslate) as a third-party machine translation service. See DeepL Privacy Policy and Cloud Translation API Data Usage FAQ for more information.
Data Hosting: We use Amazon Web Services to host our application as well as the database. All data is hosted in Europe (Ireland). See AWS Data Privacy for more information.
Analytics: We use plausible.io, a privacy-friendly site analysis tool, see Plausible Analytics Privacy Policy for more information.
CI/CD tools: We use CircleCI Continuous Integration, a development practice which is being used by software teams allowing them to build, test and deploy applications easier and quicker on multiple platforms. For more information please view CircleCI Privacy Policy.
Retention of Data
We will retain your information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
We will retain and use this information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect our legal rights and enforce our legal agreements as well as policies.
We will also retain data from translations to improve and implement functionality and quality of our service as well as for internal analysis purposes. If you wish to delete your information you can write us an email, and after we verify your identity we will comply with your request.
